Kenyan incoming President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have made their way to Kasarani, where he will be sworn in as the Fifth President.
He was dressed in a neat suit while the incoming first lady, Rachael, wore a beige floral African dress with gold flowers around her neck.
Ruto was received by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, and later, he made his way to the VVIP dias and greeted the different heads of state present.
On the way to Kasarani, Ruto greeted people standing by the side of the road and waved at him. There was also jubilation when Ruto and his wife arrived at Kasarani.
Several heads of state are already present to witness the swearing of Ruto to lead Kenya in the next five years.
They include East African Community Heads of State Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (Uganda), Salva Kiir Mayardit (South Sudan), Samia Suluhu Hassan (Tanzania), Paul Kagame (Rwanda), Evariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi), and Felix Tshisekedi (DR Congo) are attending the inauguration.
Also present are Presidents Hassan Sheikh Mohamud (Somalia), Filipe Nyusi (Mozambique), Wavel Ramkalawan (Seychelles), Emmerson Mnangagwa (Zimbabwe), Lazarus Chakwera (Malawi), Umaro Sissoco Embaló (Guinea Bissau) and Azali Assoumani (Comoros).
