Senator Khaniri ditches ANC party

Senator George Khaniri has decamped Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party and joined Azimio La Umoja.

The Vihiga County boss defended his decision, saying it was caused by his party boss move to team up with Deputy President William Ruto.

Khaniri termed Mudavadi's move as a big political miscalculation that is likely to land him in political coldness.

He blamed him for failing to consult stakeholders in Western Kenya and the ANC party at large.

He further rallies Vihiga residents to back Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.

"As a person of Vihiga, my stand is that I am in Azimio la Umoja of Raila Odinga. I am supporting Raila's presidential bid. Let Mudavadi go alone in Kenya Kwanza," he stated.

The Senator stated that it is dishonourable to vote for a community that has ruled for 46 years, yet there are certain communities that have never had been in power since independence.

At the same time, Senator Khaniri announced that he will vie Vihiga Gubernatorial seat.
