Senator Kimani Wamatangi ceases to be the Majority Chief Whip in Kenya’s Senate, announced the ruling party, Jubilee.
The party’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said the move was taken after the lawmaker quit the outfit and joined United Democratic Alliance.

Senator Wamatangi officially joined UDA last weekend during a rally held at Thika Stadium, Central Kenya.
“The Committee met on March 14, 2022 and deliberated on among other things your public attendance on March 13, 2022 of a Kenya Kwanza rally in Thika whereof you were received by the party leaders of United Democratic Alliance”.
“Your public declaration at the said rally that you have joined the United Democratic Alliance and that you intend to contest for the Kiambu County Governor seat on the ticket of the United Democratic Alliance,” Kioni stated.
Kioni stated that if Wamatangi does not agree with the party’s decision, he should make written representations to the party through the secretary-general by March 17.
“In the event that the party does not receive your representation on the deadline… speaker of the Senate will be notified of this record and further action,” he added.
