Senator Wamatangi wins UDA Kiambu governor ticket

Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi is the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) flagbearer in the county’s Governorship race.

Wamatangi bagged the ticket after winning the primaries held on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

The Senator won in 10 out of the Sub-counties despite the low voter turnout. He trounced his rivals former governor Ferdinand Waititu, MP Patrick Wainaina Wajungle and Eric Muturi.

However, Wajungle has dismissed the results, stating that the elections were not free and free. He claimed the outfit favoured Wamatangi.

He alleged that in some stations his agents were locked out of counting exercise.

"They have rigged me and I want to state it here that after two days, I will give my stand but I will be on the ballot," he said.

He went on to say that his name, Wajungle, was left off of the voting materials, which caused confusion.

"The people of Kiambu will vote for me because of my track record of development," he said
