Singer Bahati joins Jubilee party

Kenyan gospel artist Kevin Kioko popularly known as Bahati has officially joined the Jubilee party.

Kioko was unveiled at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi by outfit’s Director of Elections Kanini Kega.

The Mama hitmaker will contest for Mathare parliamentary seat using the party.

“For the longest time, we have not had a leader who is born and raised in Mathare. I want to officially state that I am vying for the Mathare parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.

“Our people have been crying over the same issues and when you are led by an outsider, they fail to understand the sufferings of the people,” he said.

At the same time, the singer confirms that he supports Azimio la Umoja’s political movement that has fronted ODM leader Raila Odinga to contest for the presidency in the upcoming polls.

This comes few months after he released a hit song in collaboration with ODM leader Raila Odinga dubbed Fire and which seeks to popularize Odinga’s bid to State House.
