Makadara lawmaker George Aladwa has said that his Westland counterpart Tim Wanyonyi has what it takes to lead Nairobi County.
Speaking when he accompanied Mr Wanyonyi to distribute food to 300 Muslim families to celebrate Iftar, MP Aladwa asked the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to issue Wanyonyi his nomination ticket.
Outspoken Aladwa wondered why ODM is delaying in giving the ticket to Wanyonyi even though he is the only one seeking the outfit’s nod.
Aladwa noted that Raila Odinga’s led party should hurry up to enable Wanyonyi to commence his campaigns.
“I urge the ODM National Election Board to issue Tim Wanyonyi the Nairobi ODM gubernatorial ticket as has been the precedent in Kisumu, Migori, Homabay, Mombasa and Kakamega. He is the sole and most promising candidate,” said Aladwa.
Others who are eyeing the seat are Johnson Sakaja of UDA, incumbent Anne Kananu, businessman Richard Ngatia and Businesswoman Agnes Kagure both from the Jubilee party.
