Woman Representative Cate Waruguru Ditches Jubilee Party

Laikipia County woman representative Cate Waruguru is the latest politician to join the deputy president William Ruto’s camp.

In a video footage shared online, Waruguru defended her move saying her supporters are fully behind the second in command.

“After attending over 40 meetings with electorates on the ground I have discovered what the people want. As a wise woman, I’m saying William Samoei Ruto is the best bet for the presidency,” she said.

Her latest move comes just a few days after the ruling party lost another election in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s backyard.

Waruguru termed the outfit dead after the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate trounced Jubilee’s in Kiambaa by-election.

In 2019, she decamped Ruto’s camp for President Kenyatta’s.

Last month, Gathoni Wamuchomba, Kiambu County woman representative, quit Jubilee for UDA. However, her decision was condemned by a section of women from the county who accused her of betraying the President.

Several leaders are purported to be on their way out of the Jubilee party because it has lost popularity.
