On Tuesday, March 1, some 120 Nigerian young men offered to help Ukraine in its struggle against Russia.

The men who surrounded the Ukraine Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, also signed a register provided by the embassy.

The Second Secretary, Ukraine Embassy, Bohdan Soltys, confirmed the development, adding that no step had yet been taken to include their names.

Some Nigerians see this as laughable and an opportunity to escape the economic hardship in Nigeria plus an offer to become a Ukrainian citizen after the war is over.

The situation is similar in a number of countries, with Britons, Americans, and Canadians all offering to assist Ukraine after Russia invaded the country last week.
