Buckingham Palace says Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle will lose their HRH titles and royal funds.
The decision is to take effect from spring.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to repay £2.4m – the money spent on renovating their Berkshire home-Frogmore Cottage.
The announce is following the decision of the couple to retire from public duties.
Harry along with his wife announced his resignation on the 9th of January.
The announcement by the Palace marks the end of the discussion on their retirement from public duties.
The Palace in a statement said on Saturday “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are grateful to Her Majesty and the Royal Family for their ongoing support as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
“As agreed in this new arrangement, they understand that they are required to step back from royal duties, including official military appointments. They will no longer receive public funds for royal duties.
“With the Queen‘s blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations. While they can no longer formally represent the Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty.
“The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their wish to repay sovereign grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their UK family home.
“Buckingham Palace does not comment on the details of security arrangements. There are well established independent processes to determine the need for publicly funded security.
“This new model will take effect in the spring of 2020.”
The Queen Buttresses Palace Statement
Meanwhile, The Queen also released a personal statement knowledging the challenges the coupled faced.
She said his grandson, Harry and his wife plus their son, Archie will remain a member of the family.
“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family.
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved members of my family.
“I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.
“I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.
“It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”
Piers Morgan Blames Megan Markle
A popular TV presenter, Piers Morgan reacted to the historic statement by Buckingham Palace.
Morgan has made no secret of his dislike for the Duchess of Susses’s alleged behaviour since he claimed she ghosted him.
The presenter who blamed Megan for Harry’s decision tweeted immediately after the announcement “BREAKING: The Queen’s told Megan/Harry to sling their part-time royal hook.
‘Well done, Your Majesty – right decision. Only surprised it took her so long to get Harry to ditch his family, the Monarchy, the military and his country.
‘What a piece of work.’
‘Bottom line: Meghan/Harry wanted to have their cake and eat it, but the Queen just took the cake back to the royal kitchens.’
Wesley Paul William Streeting, Wes Streeting Member of Parliament representing Ilford tackled Piers Morgan in a swift tweet.
For MP William, the media, out of racism treated the Duchess of Sussex very badly.
“This is shameful on so many levels. The treatment of Meghan at the hands of sections of the media hasn’t just been ‘negative’ or ‘bad’ – it has been downright racist. That’s what should bring shame on our country, not so-called ‘Megxit’.”
Dr Shola Mos-Shoghaminu tweeted “For heaven’s sake
“Even the Queen’s inclusion of warm words for #MeghanMarkle triggers you
“Your petty dislike of Meghan is seriously boring now
No offence but you really need to get over yourself #JustSayin LEAVE. MEGHAN. ALONE”
