Police have launched a murder investigation after a five-year-old girl died in West London.
The incident, which happened on Tuesday, 14 September, attracted neighbours and sympathizers.
Police were called at 12:56hrs following concerns for the welfare of the occupants of a residential address on Leyborne Avenue, W13, Northfields.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service were present at the scene.
Despite the effort, the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police said a 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and has been taken into custody.
Detectives believe the woman is known to the girl.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course as her next of kin have informed.
Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.
