Abdelaziz Maaroufi charged over death of Peter Marecheau in Alperton

Abdelaziz Maaroufi, 25, of woodside End, Alperton, has been charged with the murder of 67-year-old Peter Marecheau.

Abdelaziz appeared at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 14 September.

Peter was assaulted on Friday, 9 September, in Abbey Industrial Estate in Alperton.

Police were made aware by the London Ambulance Service at 16:20 that a man had been taken to hospital after the assault.

A crime scene was put in place, and officers attended the hospital, where Peter was treated for a life-threatening head injury. He died two days after, Monday 12 September.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

His next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers.

He was later charged as above.

Homicide detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.
