Breaking: The White Hart building in Ponders End in Enfield on Fire

The White Hart building by Tesco in Ponders End in Enfield is on fire.

The house is opposite Nue African Supermarket and Licken Chicken.

London Fire Service was called to the scene at about 2pm on Saturday.

The smoke continues to spread as the firefighter's fight to quench it.

Onlookers confirmed that residents on the first floor managed to escape.

A staff of the Licken Chicken, Melmet Pal said, "I saw the smoke and called the fire service. There was a family member upstairs. I saw the man coming out of the Window; I went to the other side of the fence and we tried to help him and gave him some water. I asked him if anyone was inside."

No report of casualty at the time of this report. Some of the occupants of the building were seen standing by the next building unhurt.

The London Ambulance Service is currently attending to the man and the two kids.
