Homicide detectives investigating the murder of a 47-year-old John Avers in Dagenham have arrested four suspects.
One of the suspects was arrested on Friday, September 18 after officers stopped a vehicle with the assistance of colleagues from Kenth on the A2 near Gravesend, around 23:30hrs.
John was killed on Sunday 13 September at a car park in Whalebone Lane South at 23:43hrs following a collision between a car.
Officers arrived at the scene with paramedics from London Ambulance service and met a 47-year-old man seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
A man was arrested in connection to the murder. He remains in custody at a north London police station.
Two women were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but were later released under investigation.
On Saturday, 19 September, police arrested a 58-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
He was arrested in Southend-on-Sea and remains in custody at a police station in Essex, according to a police statement.
John’s family have been informed, and a post-mortem examination disclosed that John died from multiple injuries.
