A woman, Zaneta Peto, 55, has been charged with the murder of Efthyia Constantinou in Enfield.
Zaneta, also known as Maria Peto of Charles Street, Enfield, appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 2 November, for murder.
A homicide investigation was launched following a dropped call to the police made from an address in Westerham Avenue just after 5 pm on 30 October.
Officers attended and found a 62-year-old Efthyia suffering from stab wounds.
Despite best efforts, Efthyia was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police arrested Zaneta Peto in the early hours of Friday, 31 October, and charged her with the murder of Efthyia.
Chief Inspector Sarah Lee from the Specialist Crime Command expressed condolences to Efthyia’s family, friends and the wider community,” who are deeply saddened by her death.
Chief Inspector Lee said, “The investigation is at an early stage, but I can confirm that Zaneta was known to the victim and that we are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.”
“Efthyia’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.”
She will next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 5 November.
