A 34-year-old man has been attacked by his bogus buyer off Facebook in Braceby Avenue, Birmingham
The man said he had advertised the distinctive YT Capra 2015 bike on the market place section on Facebook and got contacted by a bogus buyer.
The man pretended to be an ‘NHS key worker’, according to BirminghamLive reports.

The alleged Facbook buyer had convinced the victim to go with his bike to Kings heath where the transaction was to take place and assured the money would be transferred into his account afterwards.
The fake buyer also claimed his son would be at the transaction point to collect the bike on his behalf.
Upon arrival, the victim said a man in a hoodie with a Spiderman motif stabbed him in his hand after grabbing the bike off him.
The victim decided to sell his bike on Facebook due to the hardship brought by the lockdown.
Narrating his ordeal, he said “On Saturday (June 27), I was contacted through messenger by a person who I now know was a fake account.
“He said he was an NHS worker, and he wanted me to take the bike to Braceby Avenue to his son, and he would transfer the money to my account.
“I got there and a man approached me and asked if I brought the bike.
“I showed him the bike and he wanted to ride it. I tried to stop him and suddenly he stabbed my hand and rode away.
“I chased after him but lost him.”
The victim said he went with his father who has a heart condition to the transaction point.
“My dad was with me, and he has a heart condition, so I didn’t want to conflict.
“
He said the incident has been reported to the police.
He added “I’ve lost an expensive bike, but it could’ve been worse if the knife had been a bit further, on my neck.
I would say to people selling on Facebook, do not trust anyone”
