Not more than seven police were injured in illegal parties on Friday night in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Footage showed hostiles mostly of young age in Havelock Close throwing objects including bottles as the Police retreated to regroup.

The Police said officers were trying to disperse the crowd in London White’s City but were met with hostility leading to some officers sustaining injuries.

Later, trained public order officers returned to the Estates while a helicopter hovered, according to a witness, but were also met with hostility from the youths who were seen on the video matching towards the uniform policemen.

The Police says a Dispersal Zone and Section 60 stop and search order have been put in place.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) Laurence Taylor said “Officers have responded to residents complaining about a large gathering, noise, anti-social behaviour and violence.

“These gatherings are illegal and also pose a risk to public health.

“The violence shown towards officers this evening was totally unacceptable and we will not tolerate it in any form. Officers encountered bricks and other missiles being thrown at them. Our robust police response demonstrated that we will police incidents like these firmly and stop those intent on causing harm or disruption to our communities.”

The Met Police have had to deal with similar incidents across London in recent weeks, in locations in Brixton, Clapham, Notting Hill, Tooting Beck, Newham and Streatham.

In Brixton, some 27 officers were injured while hostile youths destroyed police cars in several attempts to shut down the illegal raves.
