Incident Reported in Westminster Bridge, Emergency Vehicles seen As A Man Is Reported To Have Jumped Into River Thames

Police are currently searching for a man who jumped into the River Thames at Westminster Bridge this evening.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing emergency vehicles, including police cars and fire crews rushing to the scene.

Gretta Gretttta posted "What happened on Westminster bridge? Does anybody know? #westminsterbridge #stthomashospital #incident #police #ambulance #firebrigade"

Another Twitter user, Paul Martin posted "Just coming back to Westminster bridge via boat. Blue lights everywhere"

Officers were called at 7.52 pm this evening, 7 August 2021.

They were called to a report of a man with a cut hand.

It was also gathered that a man had jumped into the river from Westminster Bridge.

It is not clear if the incidents are related.

The Metropolitan Police tweeted at 9.22 that "a search is ongoing to locate this man.

"The incident is not being treated as terror-related."
