An arrest has been made in Croydon after police recovered a loaded firearm.
Officers responded to reports on Sunday, 9 April, around 2.30hrs, a suspicious behaviour of a group of boys on the Shrublands Estate in Croydon, South East London.
After thoroughly searching the area, police arrested 21-year-old Emilio Sota concerning a loaded firearm found nearby.
The incident took a drastic turn after Sota punched an officer in the face.
The 21-year-old Sota of Portland Road, SE25, was charged with possessing a firearm and assaulting an emergency worker.
He appeared in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court, Today, Monday, 10 April.
The police also arrested two other males on suspicion of possessing a firearm. The duo have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police are appealing to members of the public to assist with information in the fight to take lethal weapons off London’s streets.

Man Charged after officers injured in Fullham
In a separate incident, police have charged a man with multiple offences after he collided with two police cars and injured two officers in Fulham.
Tanacha Weekes, 47, from Crouch Hill, N4, was charged on Sunday, 9 April with two counts of assault on emergency worker, one count of attempted grievous bodily harm on a police officer, and dangerous driving.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 10 April.
