- two men stabbed and arrested on suspicion of murder
A van and a pedestrian have collided in Slades Drive, Bromley.
The pedestrian, the 34-year-old man, whose identification is not known at the time of filing this report, died at the scene at 21:38hrs, the Met Police disclosed on Saturday.
The Police said his next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
The Blue van driver did not reportedly stop at the scene and the van was later found nearby.
A few minutes before the accident, police were called at 20:52hrs on Friday to Belmont Road in Chislehurst, a short distance from the accident scene, following reports of approximately 10 men fighting in the street.
Two men – aged 30 and 26, were found at the scene with stab injuries and were attended by the London Air Ambulance Service.
They were rushed to a south London hospital for treatment; their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The police later arrested the duo on suspicion of murder.
Detectives said enquiries are in their early stages, however, believed the two incidents were linked.
The case is now investigated by the homicide detectives from Specialist Crime Command.
Speaking on the issue, Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard, said: “All three men sustained their injuries in a small area close to the Gordon Arms pub. I believe that there are people who may have witnessed the fight, and one of the victims being struck by a van, who are yet to speak with us. I would urge them to come forward.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who captured any images on their mobile phones. This could play an important part in our investigation.”
The police have arrested a 20-year-old man on Saturday in connection to the incident. He remains in custody at South London police station.
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8721 4622 or police via 101 quoting reference Cad 8031/24July.
