Man shot in West Kensington dies at hospital in Central London

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in West Kensington.

The incident happened on Sunday on Kensington High Street, W14, at 02:02hrs.

Officers attended following firearms discharged and carried out a search of the area.

A man in his 30s was found with gunshot wounds and provided emergency first aid until the arrival of the London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance.

The man was rushed to a hospital in Central London, where he was later pronounced dead at 05:32hrs.

The police have informed his next of kin and are supported by specially trained officers.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

Homicide detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command have launched a murder investigation.

Investigators have arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder, and he remains in police custody.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 101 or tweet @MetCC, giving the reference 824/04SEP.
