Criston Preddie, 29, who stabbed his own mother to death has been sentenced.
Preddie was sentenced at the Old Baily on Friday, 18 December to an indefinite hospital order under section 37 and 41 of the Mental Health Act.
Preddie who hails from Tennyson Close, Enfield had pleaded guilty to manslaughter with diminished responsibility at the same court on 13 March.
On the 28th of September, Preddie himself called the police at 19:23hrs to a report of a seriously injured woman at an address on Tennyson Close.
The police said he had told them that he “killed his mother” but did not give a reason.
The 46 years old woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics after an effort to save her life failed.
The London Ambulance found the woman, identified as Arlene Williams suffering from stab wounds.
The 29-year-old Preddie was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and later charged for the same offence, according to the police report.
Narrating the incident, Preddie told the police officers that he had argued with his mom earlier on the day.
He said he lost his temper and approached his mother on the settee with a kitchen knife.
An officer from the INvestigation team at the Specialist Crime command DI Joanna Yorke described the incident as a “very sad case” which has left the extended family “devasted,” and they have been “supported by specially trained officers”
