PC Wayne Couzens, arrested in connection to the disappearance of Saraph Everard, has confessed to kidnapping, raping and killing her.
After leaving a friend’s house at night, Ms Everard, 33, disappeared on March 3 in Clapham, South London.
Her lifeless body was later found in Woodland near Ashford, Kent, a week later.
The Met Police officer, PC Couzens, appeared at the Old Bailey via video-link on Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty to both the abduction and rape.
He also took responsibility for Ms Everard’s death without a plea deal.
Ms Everard, a Marketing Executive, was on his way to her residential area in Brixton when she disappeared on the night of March 3.
Her boyfriend reported her missing the next day, and she was found on March 10.
PC Couzen answered ‘yes, sir’ to two counts of charges, as four members of Ms Everard’s family members present at the court could hear.
The court adjourned the case to July 9.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
