Murder Investigation Launched After Assaulted Man Died In Dagenham

Met police have launched an investigation into the death of a man in Dagenham.

The incident happened on Friday night, approximately 23:55hrs, near Gorebrook Road and Treswell Road junction.

Police and London Ambulance Service arrived at the scene and found a man in his 40s with injuries.

The man was said to be assaulted.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of the emergency services.

Police said a 38-year-old man who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder remains in custody.

Detectives are making efforts to locate and inform his next of kin.

Officers from Specialist Crime are leading the investigation and now appealing to anyone with useful information to call on 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD9319/23July.
