Nigeria Woman Oluwakemi Badare Charged With Murder Of Son

LONDON – A Nigerian woman, Oluwakemi Badare, 36, has been charged with the murder of her four-year-old son Kingswealth Gbenoula Bayode.

She was charged on Sunday, 27 December and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 December.

Badare was not in attendance at the further hearing held at the Old Bailey today, Wednesday 30 December.

The incident happened at 07:49hrs on Sunday, 27 December in Invermore place, SE18, Plumstead.

Police and London Ambulance Service arrived at the residence to a report of the death of a child at the flat.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Metropolitan police remanded Badare into custody under Section 48 of the Mental Health Act.

Kingswealth’s next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be held on Thursday, 31 December, the police said in a report.

She is due to appear at the same court on a date on 18 March 2021.
