An 80-year-old woman is in critical condition after being stabbed in Brentford.
Police launched an investigation as a man in his 20s was also stabbed to death on Friday evening.
The incident is related.
The incident happened around 20:00hrs on 12 November, in Albany Parade, Brentford, South London.
London Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene and found two persons suffering from stabbed wounds.
The male victim in his 20 was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 80-year-old woman remains in critical condition.
Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish his identity and the circumstances that led to the incident.
A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
Investigators said the incident is not linked to terrorism.
There has been no arrest. However, detectives appeal to witnesses to come forward or call 101 ref6423/12nov.
