Police arrest man after multiple stabbings in Walthamstow

A man in his 20s has been arrested in Walthamstow after stabbing three men at a pub.

Police were called to The Duke pub in Wood Street, E17 after a man used a machete to stab three people.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance, where they found three men inside the pub with stab wounds.

The men, aged between 27 and 42, have received non-life threatening treatment at an east London hospital.

On Wednesday, 15 February, the police arrested a fourth man, aged 20, with stab wounds in a nearby Shernall Street on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in the hospital, according to a police report.

Detective Inspector Laura Crump, from the local policing team in Waltham Forest, said:"Our investigation is making good progress, but we still need any witnesses who haven't yet spoken to police to come forward.

"I know this incident has caused significant concern in the community, and I would like to reiterate that we believe this was a targeted attack with no wider risk to the public.

"Officers will remain in the area throughout the day and I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak with them."
