After two months of thorough investigation, police have finally arrested a man in connection to the broad day shooting in Ponders End, Enfield, in North London.
The incident happened on Saturday, 7 January 2023, after a 26-year-old man was shot while sitting in a car on Derby Road, EN3.
Detectives from Specialist Crime (Trident) haunted the perpetrators after hospital staff contacted them around 2.30 pm after the 26-year-old was admitted with a gunshot injury.
On Thursday, 16 March 2023, the police finally arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder - he was taken to a north London Police station where he remains in custody.
Investigators arrested a 33-year-old man on Sunday, 5 February, and he was charged with conspiracy to murder.
According to detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger's analysis, the victim was believed to be in a car with his friends parked on Derby Road, EN3, when at least two suspects approached them and fired without warning before fleeing on foot.
Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger said: "We believe the victim was in a car with friends parked up in Derby Road EN3 when they were approached by at least two suspects who fired without warning and then fled on foot.
The police still appeal to anyone with useful information to call them on 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD 3607/7Jan. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
