Police Arrest Two Men After Man In His 20s fatally Shot In Brixton
Two persons have been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting in Brixton.
The incident happened on Thursday at around 06:25hrs, 21 October.
The man is believed to have been shot near Loughborough Junction Station, Belinda Road, SW9.
Police were alerted by South London Hospital staff after a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds was admitted.
Despite the effort, the victim later died in the afternoon.
Detectives have now arrested a 27-year-old suspect in connection to the murder.
The second man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The duo has been taken to a police station, where they remain in custody.
His next of kin have been contacted. Formal identification and post-mortem would be held in due course.
An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers.
DCI Mark Rogers said:“Our thoughts remain with the man’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers.
“I would urge any witnesses or anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area of Belinda Road to please come forward and speak with us. Any piece of information could be vital in helping us to identify those responsible for taking a young man’s life.”
A crime scene is currently in place while additional officers patrol in and around the area.
