Met police have declared a woman wanted after she attempted to set another woman’s hair on fire.
The incident which happened on a 328 bus on Sunday, August 30 at 16:45hrs at Kilburn High Road heading towards Maida Vale, saw the victim traumatized.
The problem started when the suspect boarded the bus without touching in.
The woman sat at the rear of the bus on the lower deck, the police said in a report on Saturday.
The victim, a 33-year-old woman was said to have sat in front of her.
A few seconds later, the suspect who was with a lighter, began to “burn strands of the victim’s hair” the police said.
The suspect immediately left the bus after the victim attempted to call the police. The woman left the bus shouting “call the police, send me to jail, I will burn you anyways.”
Investigators have released the image of the woman they believe was responsible for the assault aboard the bus in Camden.
PC Matt Cannon investigating the issue said the victim didn’t “suffer serious injuries”, but was understandably “shocked and distressed” by the incident.
“It was sheer luck that she didn’t suffer burns as a result,” PC Cannon said.
He added, “I am very keen to know the identity of the female shown in the image and urge anyone who can name her to contact police.”
The investigators are appealing to anyone with useful information to call the police on 101 OR Tweet @MetCC quoting 5466/30AUG.
