Police Search For A Man After Teenage Girl Raped In Merton

Met Police have declared a man wanted after a teenage girl was allegedly raped in Merton.

The incident happened this morning, Tuesday, 3 November shortly after 07:00hrs in the North Place area.

Police have released an image of a man they are working to trace in connection with the allegation.

The police said a crime scene is in place as a teenage girl is being supported by specialist officers.

They say the local officers have increased patrol in the area.

No arrests have been made but police investigation continues.

Detective Inspector Laura Semple of the South West Command Unit said  “The victim and her family are receiving support from specially trained officers.

“We have released an image of a man we would like to speak to and urge anyone who can help us trace him to contact police immediately.”

The police are appealing to the general public for any useful information that could identify the alleged victim.

“Any witnesses or those who have information that could assist police is asked to call 101 ref CAD V184/20.
