Police Seek Help After Report Of Possible Abduction In Haringey

There has been a report of a possible abduction in Haringey, North London.

Police are now appealing to anyone with information that could help them track the victim.

Detective Inspector Lyndsey Billaney, North Area Command Unit, said: “Anyone who has information that could help us, or who thinks they know the girl described and has information as to her whereabouts, is urged to call 101 ref CAD 6314/18 September immediately.”

In a statement on Sunday, Met police said officers received a call at 18:40hrs on Saturday, 18 September from a concerned member of the public.

A young girl aged approximately 13-15 had been seen screaming for help in a car in Plevna Crescent, N15.

The girl was reportedly in the front passenger seat and attempted to get out of the car through an open rear window before he was dragged back into a black Mercedes.

According to the police statement, the vehicle sped off in the direction of St. Ann’s road before turning right into Frinton Road.

The possible victim is believed to be black with braided hair and was wearing red tracksuit bottoms and a red hoody.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a black male with dreadlocks.

Detective Inspector Billaney said: “We are taking this report very, very seriously and are pursuing a number of urgent lines of enquiry to try to identify the girl and establish her welfare.

“I also urge residents to check dashcam and doorbell footage for any possible sightings of a black Mercedes in the area.
