Tedi Fanta Hagos Charged In Oxford Circus Murder

A 25-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 60-year-old man in Oxford Circus, Central London.

Tedi Fanta Hagos of Ravenhill, Swansea, SA5 was arrested on Thursday after a man was stabbed in what the police described as an "unprovoked" attack.

The incident happened shortly after 20:00hrs on 1 July at Oxford Circus, close to the junction with Regent Street, W1.

Officers attended along with London London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance and found the man with stab injuries.

The victim was rushed to a central hospital where he later died.

Police arrested Tedi at the scene of the incident and was taken to a south London hospital where he was treated for a head injury.

Tedi will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court today, Saturday, 3 July, charged with the murder of the 60-year-old man

He was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on Friday, 2 July.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course, according to the police.
