Ian Alexander Jr., Regina King’s only child, has tragically taken his own life at the age of 26. On Friday, January 21, the award-winning actress, 51, revealed the heartbreaking news to PEOPLE.
“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian. He is such a bright light who cares so deeply about the happiness of others.
‘Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you,’ the statement reads.
