An American controversial rapper, Kanye West has declared interest in the 2020 presidential election.
The rapper, surprisingly, got a backup from SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk.
West announced his interest via Twitter on July 4, as millions of Americans were celebrating Independence Day.

“We must now realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States #2020VISION,” he tweeted.
In response, Musk said, “You have my full support!” Earlier this week, West posted a photo of both men posing in similar outfits the Tesla founder’s home.
His 39-year-old wife, Kim Kardashian-West retweeted her husband’s announcement with America’s flag Emoji.
West had been described as President Donald Trump’s ally after he visited the White House.
This is not the first time the rapper had shown interest in running. IN 2015, during a speech at the 2015 Video Music Award, West said “It’s about ideas, people who believe in truth.
And yes, as you probably could have guessed, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
In 2016, after he met with Donald Trump at the Oval Office, West appeared to have postponed is ambition when he tweeted “#2024”.
The rapper is a great supporter of Trump slogan, Make America Great Again as he wears the hat during a meeting with the President.
It is not sure whether West has filed for an Independent candidacy, being the official paperwork to appear on state election ballots.
The deadline is passed in some states like Maine, Nex Mexico, Indiana, North Carolina, Texas and New York.
Americans are conflicted over the rapper’s interest. While some are perplexed and scared, others are in full support as a replacement for Donald Trump.
